Seacon Shipping Group was invited to participate in the research activity at Shanghai Maritime University with Leung Chun-ying
On October 15th, Vice Chairman Liang Zhen Ying of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made his research visit to Shanghai Maritime University. Guo Jin Kui, Chairman of Seacon Shipping Group also was invited to participate in this event.
During his visit, Vice Chairman Liang Zhen Ying was intrudced the Leung toured thematic displays showcasing the university’s distinctive talent development, research achievements, and its contributions to the construction of an international shipping center. He highly praised the university’s efforts in cultivating outstanding maritime talent, supporting the development of the international shipping center, and promoting the Belt and Road Initiative.
Leung delivered a speech on the topic "The Situation in Hong Kong and Its Role in National Development" and engaged in a discussion with the university’s teachers and students. In his speech, Leung, drawing from his own work experience, addressed issues such as the training of legal professionals in Hong Kong, the development and challenges faced by law firms, and the city’s significant role as a financial, shipping, and trade hub in the context of the country’s high-quality development and open economy. He also provided a pragmatic comparison of the advantages and challenges faced by both Hong Kong and Shanghai in advancing the construction of an international shipping center.
Leung also discussed the significance of establishing the Hong Kong Shipowners Association and its future goals, as well as offering an outlook for the upcoming maritime law master's program to be jointly developed by Hong Kong University and Shanghai Maritime University. Following the inspection, a discussion was held between International Shipping Group and Shanghai Maritime University regarding plans to jointly build China’s first "multi-functional green training vessel."
