Seacon Shipping Group visits Hong Kong Marine Department to discuss green shipping development
On November 20, Wang Shi Fa Director of Hong Kong Marine Department, Shi Qiang Deputy Director and Deng Qing Jiang Assistant Director warmly welcome General Manager Chen Ze Kai, Vice President of Shipping Management Group Sun Li, along with head department Manager from Hong Kong Office Li Yong Zheng of their visit to Hong Kong Marine Department.
The visit aimed to promote collaboration and development in green shipping. During the meeting, Director Wang Shi Fa provided a detailed explanation of Hong Kong's policies and measures scales for shipping emissions reduction. He pointed out that Hong Kong has passed several policies to reduce vessel emissions, improving port environmental protection levels, and ensure to fit the International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards. These policies are crucial for the sustainable development of the shipping industry.
Additionally, Director Wang explained the policy regarding the removal of restrictions for Hong Kong-flagged ships related to LNG dual-fuel T12 certificates. He mentioned that Hong Kong is actively promoting the use of LNG fuel and encouraging more vessels to adopt this clean energy source through policies.
General Manager Chen Ze Kai shared the company’s development strategy in green shipping. He emphasized that Seacon Shipping group has always been active in responding to environmental protection policies of reducing carbon emissions through technological innovation.
